Sisters and Brothers,
As a reminder, the church office is closed today because of the electrical work being done for our new a/c units. This will make our space more usable and welcoming.
Tonight, our Vestry will have its monthly meeting at 6:00 pm. In addition our Scouts will begin holding their regular Den Meetings at the same time. We have not yet found enough Den Leaders and thus could use some adult supervision. If you can help supervise our kids tonight, we'd appreciate it.
I want to call your attention to the upcoming clean-up day, scheduled for September 29th. This is the Saturday before our Feast of Title - honoring our Patron Saint. It seems that whenever we have clean-up day at church that most folks simply ignore it - as if it is someone else's responsibility to get the work done. But if this church is OUR church, then it is everyone's responsibility to help. We have some clutter that needs to be hauled off and areas that need a good scrubbing. Our facility will soon be used like we have never used it before. Every space will be needed. The Vestry and I are aware that it will not be long before we will be a major venue for celebrations, meetings, and events. Let's embrace that and let this grand old building live!
In the meantime, this Sunday our Latinos will be sharing a bit of culture through food! Mexican Independence Day is September 16th. So I hope you will join us in the Parish Hall/Undercroft for a little Fiesta! I have also called for a short "meeting" with our Latinos for a "check-in" to see how things are going.
Lastly, I want to give you a heads-up that we will be worshiping with a new Fall Missal this Sunday and will be learning a new musical Mass setting. This setting was chosen because it can be sung in English, in Spanish or bilingually. So it gives us lots of options. I think you'll like some of the pieces very much. So come, prepared to learn and celebrate with us!

Hermanas y Hermanos,
Como recordatorio, la oficina de la iglesia está cerrada hoy debido al trabajo eléctrico que se está haciendo para nuestras nuevas unidades de aire acondicionado. Esto hará que nuestro espacio sea más útil y acogedor.
Esta noche, nuestra Junta Parroquial tendrá su reunión mensual a las 6:00 p.m. Además, nuestros Scouts comenzarán a celebrar sus Juntas del Den al mismo tiempo. Todavía no hemos encontrado suficientes líderes del den y, por lo tanto, podríamos usar la supervisión de un adulto. Si puede ayudar a supervisar a nuestros hijos esta noche, lo agradeceríamos.
Quiero llamar su atención sobre el próximo día de limpieza, programado para el 29 de septiembre. Este es el sábado anterior a nuestra Fiesta del Título, en honor a nuestro Santo Patrón. Parece que cada vez que tenemos un día de limpieza en la iglesia, la mayoría de la gente simplemente lo ignora, como si fuera responsabilidad de otra persona hacer el trabajo. Pero si esta iglesia es NUESTRA iglesia, entonces es responsabilidad de todos ayudar. Tenemos algo de desorden que debe ser retirado y áreas que necesitan un buen fregado. Nuestras instalaciones pronto se usarán como nunca antes las hemos usado. Cada espacio será necesario. La Junta Parroquial y yo somos conscientes de que no pasará mucho tiempo antes de que seamos un lugar importante para celebraciones, reuniones y eventos. ¡Abracemos eso y dejemos que este viejo edificio viva!
Mientras tanto, ¡este domingo nuestros latinos compartirán un poco de cultura a través de la comida! El Día de la Independencia de México es el 16 de septiembre. ¡Así que espero que te unas a nosotros en el Parish Hall / Undercroft para una pequeña fiesta! También solicité una breve "reunión" con nuestros latinos para un "check-in" para ver cómo van las cosas.
Por último, quiero informarles que estaremos adorando con el nuevo Misal de Otoño este domingo y que estaremos aprendiendo un nuevo entorno de la Misa musical. Se eligió esta configuración porque se puede cantar en inglés, en español o bilingüe. Entonces nos da muchas opciones. Creo que te gustarán mucho algunas de las piezas. ¡Ven, prepárate para aprender y celebrar con nosotros!
