Remembering Mark D. Watkins

November 18, 1957 - November 29, 2019

A Memorial Service for Mark D. Watkins

is slated for Monday, December 16th at 3 p.m.

at The Parish Church of St. Jerome.

Mark passed away after a brief illness. He is survived by his husband Victor Evans; his daughter, Joanne De Long, and her husband, David, and his son Paul. Other family members include three grandchildren: Lex, Sy and Bane; a niece, Anna McMillan; and cousins Doug McHenry and Donna McHenry Edmunds. Mark is also survived by his ex wife Mary Jo Watkins; and his best friends Gayle Cude and Paul Pinkosky. He will be greatly missed by a whole host of other "family" who loved him.

Mark had an accomplished career as both and organist and choir master, serving in churches in both Tulsa and in Connecticut. Locally, he served at Fellowship United Church of Christ and at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church and finally as the organist and cantor at The Parish Church of St. Jerome, where Mark was a member. Representatives from these three, local faith communities will participate in the service. The Rev. Fr. Dewayne Messenger and other clergy will officiate.

Mark was active in the GLBT community and enjoyed performing as Vivian Devereaux Fontaine. Miss Vivian participated in the Drag Queen Story Hour, a reading reading program for children and hosting shows for various charities.

Internment will be in the All Saints Chapel at the Parish Church of St. Jerome. A Reception will follow in the parish's Event Center after the service.

In lieu of flowers, you are invited to make a donation in Mark's memory to the charity of your choice, or to the Parish Church of St. Jerome Memorial Fund.
