Around the Parish October 17, 2019

Sisters and Brothers,

This weekend we have several things happening. First, on Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m., Virginia Harrison is leading a rug sale (fundraiser) in the Parish Hall downstairs. Second, we will have our annual Chili-Cook off and Scaryoke night. The Cook-off is being headed up by Gary and Marke Burroughs. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. The fun continues with Karaoke led by Rack Brown. Kids, and costumes are welcome!

On Sunday we gratefully receive our new altar. Although the altar will not be fully consecrated until the Bishop is with us, we will ask God's blessing on Salvador Lopez and the amazing work he has done. In addition, we will also offer the Eucharist (Holy Communion) with the special intention (blessing) for all immigrants. Salvador is a perfect reminder of the gifts immigrants and refugees offer, and yet continue to live under the threat of deportation.

Lastly, David Mancilla is heading up a special lunch after Mass. He will be preparing flautas. The meal is free, but it is being offered as a fundraiser, so money donations are greatly appreciated.

I am so very grateful for the hard work of our wonderful parishioners. Thank you for your time and effort! Let's support them as we also support our parish.

Blessings!

Fr. Dewayne
