Around the Parish June 6, 2019

Sisters and Brothers,

Are you praying "Thy Kingdom Come?"

During the days between the Ascension and Pentecost, we're inviting all our faithful to join with the Anglican Communion, the Roman Catholic Church and others to take time to pray that God's reign might come and be established among us. Imagine what might happen here at St. Jerome if the Holy Spirit broke out among us! Imagine what it might be like for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on each one of us.

Speaking of Holy Spirit and Pentecost, this Sunday everyone is invited to wear red, orange or yellow shirts to represent the Holy Spirit. It will be a visual reminder of the Spiritual gifts we have present within our own family of faith.

We're also going to be inviting our kids to help us with some special sound effects. They're going to try their hand at making the sounds described in the story of Pentecost.

On June 16th, the Church will celebrate Trinity Sunday. This year we're also making this Seersucker Sunday. So get your seersucker shirt, slacks, skirts or suit ready for that celebration as well.

Blessings!

Fr. Dewayne
