Our Mission
Through the celebration of the
sacraments and the sharing of the Gospel of Christ, in both word and deed,
the Parish Church of St. Jerome proclaims that Christ’s Church embraces
all of God’s wondrous and diverse creation.
The people of the
Parish Church of St. Jerome hold firm in their resolve to embrace
diversity within its membership, trusting that through this commitment all
people may grow in strength, understanding and truth.
Sacraments and Grace
The rightful preaching of God’s
Word and the celebration of the Sacraments form the basis of our life
together as a church community. We follow the biblical plan for church
order and celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion in
obedience to the teachings of Christ. Worshippers from every faith tradition are invited to experience the Anglican tradition that has drawn
each of us to the Parish Church of St. Jerome and the
Ecumenical
Anglican Church
Inclusivity in Historic
Surroundings
In November of 1997, the
Parish Church of St. Jerome
purchased the previous home of the Westminster Presbyterian Church,
located in Tulsa’s historic Brady Heights. The commitment to diversity
among the Brady Heights neighborhood provided the perfect setting for a
church which mirrored the historic community’s views. Built in 1920 the
church structure is a significant piece of Tulsa’s heritage. The members
of the Parish are diligently working to preserve and restore one of Tulsa’s
oldest church structures.
In keeping with its ministry, the 15,000 square foot
historic building is often used for meetings by the neighborhood
organizations and other nonprofit organizations offering direct services
across Tulsa, as well as to the surrounding low income communities.
Regardless of one’s religious beliefs, this beautiful, historic church
stands as a symbol of hope for all who see it.
